Manufacture of a collapsible massage roller prototype out of aluminum.
A student client approached the McMaster Manufacturing Research Institute and asked us to fabricate a prototype massage roller from their drawings. The design featured 4 interlocking aluminum sections to be turned within .1 mm. Machine operations included turning, facing, parting, drilling, tapping, and boring on a manual lathe. Holes for mating screws were drilled, and grooves for magnets were milled on the CNC mill.
